This is a horrible book. It reads like someone that has used ...

This is a horrible book. Lots of content/steps are glossed over and left for the reader to figure out on their own - how did they get from point A to point D? I bought this book as a MS SQL DBA needing to get familiar with Oracle. I figured the "for dummies" part would break this down into something easy to digest. Granted Oracle is a little more complex than MS SQL but this book was a bunch of random steps with no clear instructions, the author assumes you are familiar with the oracle environment already and you know how to navigate in it. This is not a good book to become familiar with Oracle 11g. I found the online oracle documentation to be much more useful for someone new to oracle. Don't waste your money on this one.

Many Dummy books break down the subject matter in a satisfactory, yet simplified way. This book disappoints in that department, but might be useful for someone whose company is not training or paying someone to learn the topic, but holds them responsible for daily backups.

About the Author

Joe Orton (1933-1967) was an English playwright noted for his black comedies, which combine genteel dialogue with violent and shocking action. He delighted in shocking audiences by breaking taboos surrounding sexuality and death in conventionally structured 'black' farces involving epigrammatic dialogue and frenetic, convoluted plots. His plays include Entertaining Mr Sloane (1964), Loot (1965) and What the Butler Saw (1969).

Emma Parker is based at the University of Leicester where she specialises in post-war British literature and contemporary fiction, particularly women's writing. Her research focuses on issues relating to gender and sexuality, feminism and queer theory. Dr Parker is also responsible for the Orton Archive at the University of Leicester.

Not happy with this order at all

Not happy with this order at all. The detail on the advertisement indicates it is "Ring Bound." The actual product is not this at all. It consists of four separate SPIRAL BOUND books tucked into red folders that resemble the front of the hymnal. If you are looking for the convenience of a ring- bound edition to allow you to pull your hymns for easier playing on Sundays, this is NOT the item for you. I feel the advertisement is incredibly misleading. I would expect more integrity when purchasing a hymnal.

1982 Episcopal Accompaniment Hymnals

The music director at our church loved the new, larger size of the hymnal set. The pages were spiral bound as before, but the larger size made reading the music much easier. Ordering from Amazon was easy, and even the standard shipping was fast.
